@everyone  its been months, i have heard everything that the community had to say, ive been involved in those conversations. from being labeled a rug, to smilesss not deserving this community to everything else in between. i get it, trust me i do. the silence in the past couple months has been due to many factors, one aspect being legal. this has put me in a place to not be able to speak on certain factors until everything gets resolved and until all parties go about theirs. this has nothing to do with the bear or how the market is doing but everything to do with internal restructuring. i really wished, week upon week, day after day that i would be able to come here and lay down the new gameplan. With that said i get it if you dont care, we all have exceptions and when we put faith in something and it doesn't turn out quite like we imagined, it hurts, i know this first hand. i have spent these months fighting for the future of smilesss and the very thing that is my livelihood so out of everyone here, i am the one that is the most disappointed with how things unfolded but i dont have the luxury to walk away, i am not going to walk away, i just need time. the community has been very patient with me, i dont take that shit for granted, yall have allowed me so much grace, so who am i to sit here and ask for more? i do not blame anyone for walking away, i totally understand but the least i can do is just shed a little light on all the time that has passed. for those of you who have been labeled as having "blind faith" for still rocking with smilesss just know i am forever grateful for yall holding on in the face of so many reasons to let go. this is pains but growing pains, i am growing and learning about life on the fly like every single one of us, i dont expect this to be a excuse or a pass but simply a reminder that behind a project there is a real human being also experiencing life and growing pains, only difference is he's required to do the maturing in front of a audience and under a microscope. 

is there a “too late”?

i dont believe so. i think there is a “rushed”…i did that and Allah made sure to remind me to slow down and look what what im building and most importantly who i am building with. my brother pali recently, on one of my darkest day, where i sat there almost defeated asking Allah why everything fell apart, told me that things fall apart to allow you to rebuild with the right pieces. things only crumble if there was a piece that didn't belong. i found that piece, im working on removing that piece and then itll be back to regular scheduled programming.  

before i end my thoughts, though there is so much more to say, i just want to say thank you, to those of you who took the time to reach out and remind me its okay to not be okay and to allow myself to feel the overwhelming emotions. those words have been pillars during such clouded days. blessings <444

Hope you are doing well and having a great week so far. 

No major project related update in this announcement, just a personal one on my end. 

I’m making the announcement that I will be stepping down from my Community Manager role and from the team as yesterday was my last day as a member of the Smilesss team. I am forever thankful and grateful for Waheed, Gio and the team for bringing me on and providing me the opportunity to be a small part of this amazing journey of building Smilesss alongside them from being a community member who had found a place to call home in this Web3 space. The members on this team have become family to me and the decision I have made to step down was not an easy one to make but the right one for myself and the brand. I will be stepping down to take a leap of faith to explore opportunities in a field I’m passionate about and stepping down allows me to do so not at the expense of the team and taking time away from the brand. I’m proud to say I gave Smilesss 100% of my time and effort during my time with the team from Day 1 and am forever thankful and grateful to them and this community for allowing me to do so. This definitely is bittersweet but certainly isn’t my last day as a passionate community member as Smilesss will forever be family and home.

**Focus Group**

The first meeting with the Focus group took place this weekend on Saturday June 4th and it went extremely well and it left the team with plenty of food for thought. The team has been actively discussing these topics and how we can implement them moving forward and continue to improve ourselves. 

We wanted to give a huge thank you to all of the members of the focus group for taking the time this weekend to meet and provide feedback and essentially play a part in how we as a brand will operate in this space. A brief recap will be provided to the community by tomorrow evening covering the main topics of concern discussed during this meeting.


**Warzone Tournament Update**

New dates for the Warzone Tournament are locked in. These new dates are conscious of the community vote and NFT NYC taking place as many may be traveling before and during that time. Please remember we want to fill up the spots for Warzone at 45 spots with 33 being the minimum number of members needed to start the tournament. Looking forward to getting this started. **Qualifications**

```1. Must be a Smilesss holder from the start of the tournament all the way until it’s concluded to be eligible for the prize.

**PFP Mechanics**

The Smilesssvrs PFPs will forever be tied to the original Smilesssvrs NFTs that they mirror, and as a holder you will always be able to claim the correspondent PFP for free + gas, no matter where it is or what wallet it is contained in. 

If you purchase the NFT on a secondary marketplace such as LooksRare, OpenSea, or Coinbase, all you will need to do is head to our website to engage with dApp which will prompt you to initiate a free + gas transaction to move the NFT from the previous owners wallet to your wallet holding the matching Smilesssvrs NFT.

Once live, we will open the smart contract and you will be able to claim your PFP(s) for free. If you own multiple Smilesssvrs, you will be able to claim all of the matching PFPs for free + gas in one transaction.

After claiming your PFP, you will not have the ability to sell, trade or transfer them as it is directly tied to your original Smilesssvrs NFT. If you opt to sell your Smilesssvrs NFT, the new owner will be able to claim the correspondent PFP from your wallet for free (+gas) by connecting to the website and claiming. This mechanism is to ensure that the PFP will always be available by the owner of the corresponding Smilesssvrs NFT.

We chose to drop the PFPs as NFTs in order to ease the compatibility with the new web3 social network integrations (Twitter hexagon, instagram integration, etc). The Smilesssvrs NFT is a 3D character and we have changed the perspective to encapsulate the traits while also being social media friendly profile pictures, so it's important that we don’t allow the market to create duplicates. Drawing inspiration from the 0n1 Frame launch and monitoring how it has gone, we decided this would be the best way to take into consideration the things we wanted to accomplish through the launch.

**PFP Delivery Status**

From a technology perspective everything has been prepped, tested and ready to go live. The art has been completed and also has been shipped off to the render farm for rendering. Once received we will begin the diligence process and go through all of the assets to ensure there are no problems in rendering.
    
> For those who may not be familiar with this process; once we send the files off to be rendered, in some occasions there are issues with the images they render. As a result, images come back with clipping problems, missing pixels, etc. When this happens, we then have to send the images back to be re-rendered and fixed. Once we send things off to be rendered, the result is out of our hands and unfortunately causes things to take a longer time due to needing to be re-rendered till done correctly. We’re all about quality so we want to make sure we do our best to ensure the result reflects that. 

Once the images complete the QA process we will be ready to go live for claiming ::) 

We will keep everyone updated with timing and have an official launch date out for everyone soon.

***NFT NYC:***

We have hinted at this during past AMAs and Town Halls but we wanted to confirm that the Smilesss team is working hard to host a couple of events over the course of NFT NYC. NFT NYC will be taking place over June 20th-23rd and our events will happen across those dates. We also recognize that some of the community won’t be able to make the trip and so we will ensure that there is a virtual presence at our events whenever possible for those that want to stream in ::) 




***Grant proposal:***

As we continue to build out the Blueprint and deliver on it across 2022, we are pleased to announce the launch of the grant proposal system. This is something that a number of the team are hugely passionate about and will let Smilesss holders have the opportunity to submit applications for grant funding which, if approved, will be used to benefit the Smilesss brand, the community or indeed the Smilesssvrs NFT project. A test case for its use was successfully completed at the end of March when <@709257577606938666>  organized a community event in LA – thank you again for an amazing night!

As mentioned at previous town halls, the grant proposal system creates a unique opportunity for Smilesss holders who might want to explore limited use of the IP on a temporary basis.

**What** - The grant proposal system will let Smilesss holders apply for grant funding for ideas that benefit the Smilesss brand and /or community. Unfortunately not every application will be able to be approved but we will endeavor to work with as many of you as possible.

**How** - Any Smilesss holder interested in submitting a proposal can do so via the link provided below. During the application process, we’ll ask for additional details on your proposal ::)

**When** - The proposal should be delivered or initiated within a short-term timeframe of applying (i.e. within 6 weeks)! 

**Where** - This is an opportunity for anyone in the Smilesss community to submit an application - given we’re a worldwide community we want everyone to be able to apply

Wanted to pop in with a quick update regarding our Discord and one reminder:

**Discord: **

As we continue to build and grow within web3 there will be many lessons we take with us and some that we need to put into action to benefit the growth of the company. 

As a team, we have spent a lot of time discussing how to better protect our wellbeing in an industry that virtually functions 24/7, 365. We are big advocates for mental health as we preach within the community and supported with the <#970087925305970718> channel, but we also need to be hyperconscious of how constant work with no break takes a toll on team members. 

With this being said, we have decided to reduce the amount of staff on-hand in the Discord during the weekend with a view of ensuring everyone has some down-time to themselves for a much needed mental reset, to start each week off strong. This is a decision we aren’t taking lightly but we feel that this continues to ensure the long term sustainability of Smilesss as a project, as a company and as a team. We will of course still be available should anything urgent arise but I wanted to flag that moving forward the discord support will be slightly reduced on Saturdays and all discord channels will be fully shut down on Sundays. These changes are being taken with the aim of supporting the team and making sure that we all come back and hit the ground running on Mondays.

We’re super conscious that our community consists of big sports fans, so during certain seasons we will shift the shutdown between a Saturday or Sunday, to be conscious of big events that our community would love to chat about ::)

You’ll continue to see some sneak peeks dropped throughout the week as we work to deliver the PFPs. Waheed has been working his magic and we think these look amazing! To set the cadence, we want everyone to understand that this isn’t a simple lift to change the camera angle, Waheed had to go back to each individual trait including the platforms, and manipulate them in addition to the body position to make sure they fit into the camera view and maintain the high quality feel we all know and love. In terms of next steps, these will be sent to the render farm for rendering and once complete, the team will be tasked with reviewing each to ensure they have been rendered successfully without missing pixels, clipping, etc.. We will continue to provide updates on where we are in the process as well as logistics to how they will be released to holders.



***Pooh Shiesty Collaboration***
The team is working with Atlantic Records to progress the next steps of this collaboration. Waheed has been designing the exclusive T-Shirt and Ski Mask. The T-Shirt is available to Smilesss holders (for a cost) and holders of the Smilesss x Shiesty Season NFTs. The Ski Mask is available to both Smilesss holders and holders of Smilesss x Shiesty Season NFTs for free.  The team is developing a portal which will be accessible via our website and let holders claim these items by verifying their piece.

***Discord Compromise Update***
As most of you may know, the Discord was compromised at the beginning of March and unfortunately a small number of our holders were impacted. Thankfully we were able to acquire the pieces lost and are in the process of refunding all of the affected members who have come forward and completed the necessary steps.

With that, we are asking that anyone who was affected by this incident and has not been in contact with the team, please do so within the next **30 days** to acquire any lost funds/assets.  After the 30 days we will no longer be able to process refunds in regards to this incident.  To ensure we are returning the assets to the correct individual, you will be asked a series of questions as a security precaution.



***Focus Group***
We have now identified potential members for the first Focus Group meeting and will begin contacting them with the aim of speaking to all before the end of the week. Once all eight members have confirmed they continue to be able and willing to support this work, we will look to arrange the meeting date in May that allows for all to attend.
