As we approach the end of the year, I wanted to take a moment to reflect on all that we have accomplished in 2022. 

Looking back on the past 12 months, starting out as a young group of mystery animals, it is clear that we have grown significantly as a community. We have welcomed new members, fostered meaningful connections, and worked together to achieve countless goals.

G'day Troop!

Congratulations are in order! For me! I'm(my wife is) pregnant! This last week has been a roller coaster of emotions and has made me really take a hard look at my life to assess where I'm at versus where I want to be at when we bring a tiny human into the world. 

Long story short, I've decided I need to step down from the community manager position. It's not fair to you all to have a community manager that is spread as thin as I will be in the coming months. So I'd like to apologize to you all for having to step down so shortly after being brought up. But I've made some incredible connections over the last month and I'll be sure to put them to good use for the Troop going forward.

I was worried I'd upset the team when I let them know that I'd be stepping down. Instead, it's been nonstop support which has been really heartening. Not only do we have an incredibly hardworking team, we have an incredibly caring team and I feel lucky to have been a part of it. Plus, after working with Brandy for the last several weeks, I know that you're all in good hands. She's a rock star.

I'd like to point out that each of these three additions (read: promotions) have been in our community for the better part of a year and have each made their way up from a Jr. Mod or Mod into a more advanced position. The other thing I'd like you to understand is that none of them initially knew where they'd fit into Web3 in terms of work. 1. The website revamp is going beautifully. The design was completed about a week ago and the webdev is making it functional as we speak. The purpose of the new website is to make it more professional and be a central hub for all things Roo Troop. There will be pages for:

> Staking
> Jobs
> Roos vs Joeys
> Team 
> Roadmap
> Philanthropy

2. We've been updating/recreating our whitepaper over the last couple of months and that's going well too. We should be pretty close to getting this sorted in the coming weeks. It will be way more concise & easy to follow/understand what we've done/where we're going and in all honesty, answer a ton of questions from the community.

3. The on-chain job marketplace is being worked on day in and day out. At this point, we're looking at an early-mid September release, but we're not locking in a date as there's many variables that could swing us either way. Every single demo I've done on it gets stellar feedback and will solve all issues with the current BH + bring features you didn't even know you wanted/needed. I've never been more bullish on a platform, web2 or web3, and you'll all see why soon.

4. Roo Tech is a newer leg of Roo Labs (we renamed the LLC) that offers over 20 innovative web3 solutions. Due to a few individuals' desire to continue spamming and even use bots to drive them ahead of their fellow Roos, we have decided to cancel the #RootyRoo competition for the time being. 

The competition was to reward some active Troop members for spreading the Roo word & earn some Roowards in the process. What we saw was not genuine, but rather spam plugged under comments/threads that had nothing to do with said spam. This does not paint Roo Troop in a positive light and is likely to make the random onlooker steer clear of joining us, which is absolutely NOT what we want. 

I take the blame for not defining a clear rule set from the start, as I expected the Troop to be courteous & genuine in their shills/comments like always. 

I'll be releasing a new competition in the coming week with a clearly defined rule set to avoid these issues occurring the next time around.

We are still actively working on implementing a new feature so that you won't have to run /sync when you return back from the verification page, but that will come in the coming days and will not have any major impact on already verified users.

If you are already verified on the old system, you *should* not need to again, but it wouldn't hurt to reverify if you have any doubts. The new verification procedure is as follows:

1. Go to https://verify.rootroop.com/
2. Connect your wallet (MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, Wallet Connect)
3. Log in with Discord (notice that Discord doesn't share any of your personal information with us, we just need your verified user ID)
4. Redirect back where you must sign a verification message (this does not give us any access to your wallet, double check that the message starts with "To verify your ecosystem token holdings...")
5. You will be prompted with a screen containing all your ecosystem token holdings
6. Return to the Discord server and run /sync (working on phasing this part out)

The in-house verification bot now supports Joeys in addition to Roos, $xROO, $xROOWETH, and $ROO and any staked Roos/Joeys will be handled automatically with ranks preserved.

Yo fam, just want to give a big thank you to everyone for your extended support this week. 

I said I was going to be offline most of the week to pack/get ready for my move to NZ on Monday, but we've just had so many opportunities come that I couldn't pass up and now I'm still unpacked/unmoved into storage, but we're in a whole new playing field w/ Roo Troop. 

With this partnership, and the momentum we've gained leading up to it, we're now officially out of our low-mid tier echo chamber and into the big leagues. 

So many huge names taking note. So many big projects want to partner. I say it a lot but truly my DMs and emails are super bullish right now and it's a result of the community's strength showing up as hard as y'all do day in and day out.

Now, I truly am going to get offline to begin packing, as that was the last big announcement of the week, but keep the pressure on. We can harness this momentum to our benefit, or we can squander it...I have no doubt we'll do the former.
