After careful consideration, **we have decided not to release Chapters Two, Three or Four of Footballer’s Journey. ** 

**We are proud of the first chapter** and it was a privilege to tell the story of some of football’s most talented players and **we want to thank everyone who purchased Footballer’s Journey Chapter One, we hope you enjoyed the artwork and story.** 

Whilst we are disappointed to end the Footballer’s Journey project, **we have decided to focus our resources and efforts on enriching and improving the Serie A DVM project and the upcoming gamified experiences** we mentioned previously. 

It took us a while to communicate this decision to you guys because **we’ve been defining the steps to fairly and quickly compensate you** for the change to avoid further disappointment.

👀 **The future of Aera by OneFootball** <:aerabyOF:1035588667013595176> 

@Players , It’s been 3 months since we have launched this project with you. 

It has been a wild rollercoaster ride with ups and downs. Even though we’ve seen significant improvements through AMAs, more transparency and more challenges in the last couple of weeks, it’s important to us to reflect upon our journey and learn from our mistakes. This is an honest look in the mirror.

Since this idea was born, we have had a single purpose: To bring football closer to its fans and to bring back the mystique, passion, and love we feel for this sport, which for all of us it is more than just a sport. But things did not go as planned. 
We know many of you have experienced tech issues during early access, and that you believe we released too many moments and that they’re not exciting enough.

On top of that, we tried traditional social media marketing on Instagram, put up a giant two-page sign-up QR code in a national newspaper and even radio advertisements in Italy. 
But because of technical issues the ads resulted in low conversions, the QR code was scanned only a few times. Simply put: Our marketing was wide off the mark.

🙏 **Tough lessons learned.**

This resulted in us selling 3.637 of 75.000 packs in our first drop. We weren’t able to live up to expectations - the floor price fumbled. We’ve had too many drops, too frequently, no movements in the marketplace, and lacked clarity in our communication. 
As a result, we burned over 600.000 NFTs of our collection. The discord conversations went negative. The sentiment shifted.

**That is why we today apologise to you, our community.** 
We recognise that we have made mistakes. Ultimately we realised that not our actions, but our approach was the problem. We didn’t put our community as priority number 1. We didn’t let you decide and help, even though you wanted to.

We firmly believe that transparency is vital for our relationship to last, which is why we didn’t want to act like this didn’t happen. 
**We are 100% committed to our community because we are convinced that you are our backbone.** From now on things are going to change. Behind the scenes lots is changing and we’re setting everything up to become a truly community-driven product.

🔭 **Here’s how we’re going to change:**

**We want to rebuild, because we firmly believe that we have the best utility to offer for football fans.** 
Serie A remains our most important project and it’s here to stay. Moreover, we’re in close contact with all leagues, clubs and players in Europe and have to offer things beyond collectibles. Things money can’t buy. Things we now build into our product. Our collection will from now on be utility-first, collectible-second.

**1. Interviews:** We started to interview many of you, which made us realise our shortcomings. That was step 1.
**2. Simplification & Refocus: **Improve our onboarding for new users through simplifying our discord (channels + roles).
**3. Build community into our product: **Introduce long-term utility for holders, utility-progression and a community-led core feature.
**4. Activate the community:** Regular AMAs, create community-led challenges and do utility-first giveaways.
**5. Promotion:** Incentivise whales of other Web3 sports communities, create a utility-based influencer campaign and close more partnerships.

Your voice will from now on be the first to be heard, and **we will involve you in recurring voting activities that will be considered for active decisions on collections. **
